GTCC Foundation names High Point native Britney Sink director

"It is especially meaningful to return to the community where I grew up and have the opportunity to lead the GTCC Foundation,” said Sink.

With more than 17 years in the nonprofit sector, Britney Sink has been named director of the Guilford Technical Community College Foundation.

A native of High Point, Sink will serve as the foundation’s chief fundraiser and oversee all aspects of its operations, including major and planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, donor stewardship, alumni engagement and community partnerships. She will work collaboratively with the GTCC president, the foundation board of directors, and college leadership to ensure a unified, mission-driven approach to philanthropy.

The GTCC Foundation works to ensure educational excellence through fundraising, advocacy, and promoting awareness of the college’s positive impact on the community. In the past decade, the GTCC Foundation has provided nearly $11 million in funding to enhance student access and success, college programs, and employee development.

“We’re excited to have Britney’s expertise and energy at the GTCC Foundation,” said Jan Knox, vice president of college advancement for GTCC. “Her experience with community college philanthropy gives her a strong understanding of how donor support can transform opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. She already understands the value GTCC brings to the Triad, and we look forward to working with her to strengthen partnerships, grow support, and continue making amazing happen for our students and community.”

Most recently, Sink served as a nonprofit consultant supporting organizations with fundraising and leadership support. Before that, she served for five and half years as director of annual giving and donor engagement for the Pellissippi State Community College Foundation in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, Sink was responsible for leading annual fundraising strategy, directing stewardship strategy, overseeing alumni programming, and spearheading multichannel donor communication strategies.

Sink holds a Bachelor of Arts in international studies and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Public Service from the University of Arkansas.

She resides in the Triad with her husband and 4-year-old daughter.
