GTCC is excited to partner with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for C-STEP! C-STEP, or Carolina Student Transfer Excellence Program, is open to high school seniors and current GTCC students. For the first two years of college, students will attend GTCC and earn an Associate’s degree. Students then transfer to UNC for an additional two years of study to earn their Bachelor’s degree.

Students must be enrolled in either Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree programs from GTCC and earn the degree with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 to qualify for C-STEP.

UNC reviews candidates comprehensively. It considers, along with other criteria, demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, first generation college status, diversity, employment history and family responsibilities. Talented low to moderate income high school and community college students are guaranteed eventual admission to UNC if they are admitted to and complete the GTCC portion of the program successfully.
