New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is required for all students (on-campus and online) who are:
- Attending college for the first time
- Attending GTCC for the first time, but have previous college experience
- Returning to GTCC after an absence of more than two years
New Student Orientation is not required for students who:
- Have completed a bachelor’s degree or higher
- Are enrolled at GTCC as Special Credit students (taking courses but not completing a program at GTCC)
Steps to Complete the Orientation Process
About 48 hours after completing your application in step 2, you will be able to activate your GTCC Titan Account. Please check your personal email to obtain your GTCC email address or contact records@gtcc.edu. Check your email for your initial password.
Once you have activated your Student Account (Titan Account), complete the online Orientation. This is a short welcome and introduction to GTCC.
Once you’ve completed orientation, the next step is to sign up for your First Advising session. In this session you will learn how to register for classes, receive information about resources that are available at GTCC, and work with a Student Success Coach to develop your college plan. Click the First Advising link below, log in, and complete the brief information sheet so that you will be given accurate advising information.

- First Advising face-to-face: Walk-in to one of the following locations for first-come, first-serve advising or Complete our registration form for an appointment. Jamestown Campus: Medlin Campus Center, Room 2501. 601 East Main Street, Jamestown, NC, 27282. Greensboro Campus: CEC, Room 132. 3505 East Wendover Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405. High Point Campus: H1, Room 133. 901 S. Main Street High Point, NC, 27260.
- First Advising callback queue. Please enter your cell number on our Student Success Center Callback Queue and we will contact you.
- First Advising online. Complete our online registration form and an online advisor will contact you within 48 hours. If no one has contacted you within that timeframe, please send an email to orientation@gtcc.edu.
- Complete our registration form for a group First Advising appointment.
