JAMESTOWN, N.C. (July 27, 2018) — Guilford Technical Community College has launched a new website. The revamped site was designed to be student-focused, making access to information quick and easy. It launched on June 27.

GTCC partnered with Greensboro-based Beacon Technologies and used input from faculty, staff and current students as well as independent research to identify areas for an improved user experience. The website uses best practices and technology to appeal to a younger demographic and its responsive design can be viewed on a variety of platforms, delivering the same user experience across all mobile devices.

A key addition to the website is an area for students to explore all programs of study related to a specific career channel. The various career channels outline non-credit and credit programs in one convenient place.

“This provides students with a holistic view of a given industry and identifies the variety of educational pathways available for job entry,” says Dr. Beth Pitonzo, GTCC Senior Vice President of Instruction. “The new feature was based on feedback from our students to help them identify opportunities in their chosen avenues of study.”

With fall registration underway, GTCC students are already benefiting from the new site design.

“Our call center staff has indicated students are navigating through the enrollment process easier, which was one of our goals with the redesign,” said Dr. Pitonzo.

Guilford Technical Community College is the fourth largest of 58 institutions in the North Carolina Community College System. GTCC serves more than 35,000 students annually from five campuses and a Small Business Center. Learn more at www.gtcc.edu.
