“My whole thing was ‘nobody’s teaching you this, yet it’s a viable market,’” said visual artist Douglas Cason about teaching GTCC art students the process of creating a mural.
A colorful new mural is adding vibrance to the Jamestown campus of Guilford Technical Community College. With a mini-grant of $3,000, visual art instructor Douglas Cason was hired and supplies were bought. “I had not painted a mural in over 20 years, and then I came to Greensboro, and that seems to be how you make your money,” said visual art instructor Douglas Cason. “My whole thing was ‘nobody’s teaching you this, yet it’s a viable market,’” said Cason. GTCC art students were able to see the project from beginning to end. Originally published at www.ednc.org.
