Visiting firefighters from Mexico train at GTCC

The firefighters from Mexico drove more than 1,500 miles to train at GTCC, paying their own way.

Luis Olvera, a Guilford Tech Fire Academy instructor and Winston-Salem firefighter, and his brother Gerardo Olvera helped provide 21 firefighters from Mexico with international fire pump operations training.

The training is designed to provide guidance on how to perform tasks and help firefighters source needed supplies.
