Summer SkillUp Programs
GTCC Summer SkillUp Programs provide short-term training opportunities for individuals looking to strengthen their technical skills, meet continuing education requirements, or prepare for industry-related licensing exams. Course offerings include plumbing, HVAC, electrical, low voltage safety, EV charging systems, shower installation, water heater installation, and welding fundamentals.
These programs are designed for working professionals, contractors, and individuals interested in hands-on career training in skilled trades. Courses are offered on select dates in May and June 2026 and include options approved or designed to support licensing, safety awareness, and industry certification preparation.

Welding & Fabrication Fundamentals (WLD-3106-138)

This course provides instruction on the principles and practices of welding. Emphasis is on the blueprint reading, metallurgy, welding inspection, and destructive and non-destructive testing. Course content will be specific to a particular welding process such as SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG). Upon completion, students will have the knowledge base to sit for various industry-specific certifications.
