The Center for Academic Engagement (CAE) is much more than the central tutoring center at GTCC. We also provide access to computers and printers, as well as assist with tech support. We strive to Make Amazing Happen by serving as our students' learning community for academic acceleration and elevation.

We Support Your Success
Whether you're working on assignments, printing class materials, or accessing online resources, our center is equipped to support your success. Stop by in person, give us a call, or connect with us online. We’re here to make sure you have the tools and support you need to succeed—every step of the way.
The tutoring center is staffed by experienced educators, many of whom have decades of instructional experience in their academic fields, and all of whom have undergone rigorous vetting and training in academic disciplines, including tutoring and student service best practices. GTCC tutors are trained in metacognition, pedagogy, andragogy, as well as teaching ESOL learners and instructional strategies for neurodiverse student populations.
Students do not need to request a tutor. Tutoring is available at multiple campus locations by appointment or on a walk-in basis. If you prefer an appointment, you can schedule via the Tutoring Services page on Canvas by clicking on 'tutoring availability.'
Our tutoring centers are open for drop-in support and appointments. GTCC students also have access to 24/7 live chat tutoring and document review through Tutor.com.
No! In-person tutoring is available on a walk-in basis. Not every subject is available during the center's operating hours. There are appointments for a limited number of content areas during the day. Appointments are limited to one hour per day, per subject.
Tutor.com is an online tutoring service that connects students with expert tutors 24/7. It offers help in a wide range of subjects, including math, science, writing, and more. Students can receive real-time assistance, submit papers for review, or schedule sessions—all from any device with internet access.
GTCC students have unlimited access to online tutoring through Tutor.com. This service is available 24/7 and must be used for college courses in which students are currently enrolled at GTCC. Tutor.com access is intended solely for the individual student and cannot be shared or transferred to friends or family members.
To access Tutor.com, log into Canvas using your GTCC credentials and navigate to the Tutoring Services page. Click "Tutor Availability," then choose "24/7 Online Tutoring" to log in to the service. Once the Tutor.com page opens, enter the topic and subject you need help with, provide details about your assignment or question, and click Connect to be matched with a live tutor.
