Blueprint Reading

Architectural Blueprint Reading is a 24-hour course designed to introduce participants to the interpretation and use of residential and commercial construction drawings. Students will learn common blueprint symbols, abbreviations, line types, scales, and terminology while reviewing floor plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and specifications.

The course also covers basic dimensions, construction materials, building systems, and methods for locating and cross-referencing information across a complete set of drawings. Through guided instruction and hands-on exercises, participants will develop the practical skills needed to accurately read architectural plans, identify project requirements, and communicate effectively on construction projects.
