Forklift Maintenance Tech

Forklift Maintenance Technician is a 40-hour course designed to provide participants with foundational skills for inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial forklifts and powered industrial trucks. Topics include forklift components and operating systems, preventive maintenance, fluid and filter service, electrical and battery systems, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, tires, forks, chains, and other lifting components.

Participants will learn to identify common mechanical problems, perform routine inspections, follow manufacturer specifications, document maintenance activities, and recognize when equipment should be removed from service. Classroom instruction and hands-on exercises emphasize safe work practices, proper tool usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements. This course prepares participants for entry-level maintenance responsibilities but does not qualify them as certified forklift operators.
