Basket Making

This course teaches basic to advanced level basketry techniques and terms and includes dyeing and weaving with reed. Weaving with painted paper is also available. If you are a first-time student, you will start with a reed basket and can move on from there. You may complete two to three baskets in one session. Please bring to class a basin, spray bottle, small screw driver, measuring tape, pencil, towel, and heavy-duty scissors. Oil Painting

This course teaches the fundamentals of traditional oil painting techniques. The course features the genre of still life painting, as well as drawing basics when working from life, and time-honored methods and materials unique to oil painting. The course includes instructor demonstrations and one-on-one time. There will be an extra cost for materials. The instructor will explain the extra costs for materials on the first day. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain

In this course, you will learn and practice the five basic skills of drawing in a fun, effective way with inspiration from Betty Edwards’ best-selling book, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. Beginning Sewing

Beginning sewing provides students with the opportunity to learn fabric and pattern selection, principles of cutting and marking, and basic construction skills. Included in the course are darts, seams and finishes, sleeves, hems, pockets, and buttonholes. There is an extra cost for supplies and supply list will be given in first-day class. The college provides sewing machines for class instruction, no personal sewing machines will be allowed in the class. This class is designed for students whose sewing levels would range from beginning to intermediate levels. This class would be specially taught based in individual skills.
