NEW! Spanish For the Workplace
Reap the benefits of the skill of speaking Spanish in today's global economy! In today’s diverse, interconnected world, communicating effectively in Spanish can be valuable in the workplace. This course introduces you to simple, useful conversational language to equip you to communicate in Spanish. This is especially helpful for people who serve in human services, public safety, retail and food services, and corporate and ministry environments.

Basic Spanish I
Basic Spanish I introduces students to the fundamentals of the Spanish language in a supportive, interactive environment. Students will develop basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while learning essential vocabulary, everyday expressions, and simple grammar. The course emphasizes practical communication for real-life situations, pronunciation, and an introduction to Hispanic cultures. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required.

Basic Spanish II
Basic Spanish II builds on the skills developed in Basic Spanish I and is designed for students with a basic understanding of the language. Students will expand their vocabulary, strengthen grammar, and improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through practical conversations and everyday situations. The course emphasizes building communication confidence while continuing to explore Spanish culture. Completion of Basic Spanish I or equivalent experience is recommended.

This course is for those who have completed Spanish Beginners and want to improve their conversational skills and advance to the next level of Spanish. The course emphasizes oral communication, reading basic phrases and expressions, and grammar instruction to hold meaningful conversations.
The textbook the course uses is "Easy Spanish Step-by-Step" by Barbara Bregstein. It is available at the GTCC Greensboro and Jamestown Campus bookstores.

This course is designed for students who have already completed Basic Spanish I & II and Intermediate Spanish and want to continue their language-learning journey. It will increase your fluency and foundational knowledge of Spanish, and its more complex grammatical components needed to hold meaningful conversations. Foundational knowledge of present tense verb use is essential.

Beginning Conversational Spanish (Online)
Designed for beginners, we will have you speaking and reading Spanish in no time. You will practice the basic building blocks of the language and common idiomatic expressions. You will know enough vocabulary and grammar for simple conversations and learn how to answer questions.
Whether you speak some Spanish and need a refresher or no Spanish at all, you will complete the course with the skills to communicate. This class is 100% online and is asynchronous with no specific class times. You may log in at your leisure.
