To receive in-person First Advising without an appointment, stop by a Student Success Center location. You can enter a virtual queue for each campus and check wait times at our QLess Virtual Lines page.  

Current and returning students

To schedule an online advising session, send an email to requesting an online advising appointment or enter your cell number on our Student Success Center Callback Queue and someone will contact you to arrange an appointment. Callback queue is open 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Our Student Success team is here to coach all students through to graduation. College can sometimes be daunting and it is our mission to support and serve all students. Your life goals are worth the hard work it takes to succeed and our New Student Orientation, Academic Advising, Career Services, College Transfer Services and International Student Services are some of the ways we support students at GTCC. To support yourself and your family it takes more than just a high school education. Student Success and Retention Services makes it our mission to support all students through your education and to graduation. 

Here is a useful list of success tips.

  • Use your syllabus
  • Get to know your professors
  • Make good grades

  • Be prepared
  • Understand that being a student is a full time job
  • Be patient with yourself
  • Balance and budget your time
  • Don’t put of taking difficult classes
  • Use college resources (you paid for it) like academic tutoring.

  • Know which courses qualify as college transfer – talk to your advisor!

Yes, to insure that students are on the right path to graduation, every other semester an advising hold is placed on your account that will prevent you from registration until having met with your assigned academic coach/advisor.
