Limited Entry Programs

“Limited entry” means that space in programs is limited, and acceptance into them may be based on a competitive admission process.  While you may be admitted to GTCC,  you have to meet additional requirements to be considered for admission into a limited entry program. Each program has a specific program application deadline date.  A student applying for a limited entry program may transfer in credit hours from other colleges or will need to enroll in classes that will help them meet the minimum requirements for their specific program of choice.  Once the minimum requirements are met, you are eligible to submit an application to that program.

The application process, requirements, and acceptance process are explained in the program information packets.  If you wish to apply for a Health Sciences program, you should complete the following as soon as possible:

  1. Print a Program Admission Packet, available on this page, by clicking on the program name below. Read it carefully, and refer to it when meeting with your assigned advisor, as it will indicate the courses needed for your selected program. It will also outline the required steps you must complete in order to meet the minimum requirements to apply to the program.
  2. Attend a required Program Information Session for your program of interest as early as possible in the process.  Session dates, times, and locations are included in the Admission Packet. This session will review the Admission Packet and discuss the application and selection process. Faculty from the specific program will also be in attendance to answer your questions.
  3. Once you have completed the Minimum Admission Requirements for your selected Program, then you are ready to make an appointment to meet with the Limited Entry Programs Office to review your requirements and prepare to submit your Health Sciences Program Application by the posted application deadline.

Each program has a deadline date.  The application process, information sessions (if applicable), requirements, and acceptance process are explained in the program information packets.  Program information packets for all programs are available in the Enrollment Services Center, the Limited Entry Programs Office (for Cosmetology and all health programs, excluding EMS), or by clicking on the program name below.
